The photographer Alex Prager directed a series of elegant videos portraying the cinematic villainy for The New York Times Magazine. Inspired by nefarious icons and featuring the best film performers from last year, each video is a unique art piece, where a 60s touch and an amazing sound work enhance the villainy and the tension of actions.

After some expectation caused by the teaser, finally the new video of Fleet Foxes was released, a radiant and strong 8 minutes and 23 seconds film. Directed by Sean Pecknold (vocalist Robert Pecknold’s brother), the film is packed with magic and atmosphere that makes the narrative, that so well fits the sound, a complete sensory experience.

The electropop singer-songwriter Victoria Hesketh, known by the stage name Little Boots is back with a new single, “Shake”, part of her forthcoming LP that will be out next year. “Shake” is more dancier, and more electro than ever before, basically more club-orientated, but without losing the beat that makes Hesketh’s music character so strong.
 

Leila & Damien de Blinkk directed a a series of fashion videos for the brand The brand French Connection, each one is portraits of one garment treated as a hero of the action.
From the first time I saw this Teaser I was left a peculiar unrest and curiosity of what was this video about. This great direction, lighting, and sound in a edition of fast small excerpts worked almost a brainwash of high quality visual information. Was interesting to discover that all that greatness and associated to a fashion brand and not a teaser of art film.

Just came across with the single ‘Parix’ of the Danish band When Saints Go Machine album ‘Konkylie’. Captivating from the first instant the music’s great mood and tone perfectly fits the slow video atmosphere from the director Daniel Kragh-Jacobsen.

The beautiful narrative “Cecelia & Her Selfhood”, from the Irish band Villagers, found a film of pair beauty, directed by Adrien Merigeau (that recently presented Old Fangs), the story of love for a statue is presented with a strong and calm charm in an animation that by the simple lines reminds of a nostalgic childhood.

“Nothing explains the film better than the film itself. Nonetheless, here is a concise and vaguely pretentious synopsis:

The film charts the development of a young man as he navigates his way through an impressionistic landscape in search of an elusive monster which is intent on destroying his childhood home. Lost and confused for the most part, he nonetheless uncovers the beast; a creature whose origins are both terrifying and liberating.”
